Member of the Interview Board who stands in a material relationship to a person who is a candidate for appointment as a teacher shall:

• disclose to the Interview Board the fact of the relationship
• the nature thereof
• Interview Board will determine whether the member will take any further part in the process
• Community National Schools: Conflict of Interest forms to be returned to the ETB

Interview Board members are required to make disclosure not only in the case of a family relationship but in respect of any relationship which could be regarded as prejudicial to ensuring absolute impartiality in the selection process. Professional relationship in itself not necessarily constitute a material relationship. Disclosure and decision shall be recorded in the Interview Board’s report to the Board of Management.
