Selection & Appointment of Principals/Deputy Principal (Open Competition)
An open competition shall be held for the appointment of Principals and Deputy Principals (above the relevant mainstream staffing threshold - see Table 6.1.1, Primary Circular 0044/2019, Chapter Four).
Primary Circular 0044/2019, Chapter Four, must be followed for the recruitment of Principals and Deputy Principals (open competition).
If the threshold for the appointment of Deputy Principal through open competition has not been reached, do not use the following recruitment procedure. The internal appointment procedures set out in Primary Circular 0044/2019, Chapter Three, must be followed.
